THE TRUE PURPOSE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT

There is one police officer for every 35,000 citizens in this country. Do you really believe that the police have the ability to protect you, 100% of the time? Your local police or sheriff's department does play an important role and they do provide a very generalized level of protection. But your local law enforcement agency does not, and can not, provide you with individualized protection. You can't call the police department and say, "I feel like going to the mall today and I would like a police escort so that I will feel safe while I shop".

Know this... The law enforcement community is NOT required by law to provide you with protection. Don't believe what you see on TV about "To Protect and Serve". Nowhere in the constitution of the United States or anywhere in your local or state laws is it written that the police shall provide you with protection.

If the government were required to provide you with protection, then anyone who has ever been the victim of a crime could sue the government for failing to provide protection. That is why no one does. Furthermore, governments have immunity from legal action against them.

People need protection from harm and it is not the job of the police department to provide you with that protection. In many places in the US, just the opposite is true. Most places in the United States have laws on the books that require you, the private citizen, to assist or come to the aid of a police officer if clearly needed or if you are directed to do so. Whose responsibility then, is it to protect the citizens?

It's the citizen's responsibility to protect themselves. This being true, it is absolutely required that citizens have the means to protect themselves. Self preservation is the oldest law of nature and applies to both man and animal alike. It is therefore imperative that your government not deprive you of the tools of self defense (firearms). Research your local laws and take responsibility for the safety/security of yourself and your family.
